Cindo de Mayo – The Clough Team’s Top 5 Mexican Restaurant Picks

Cinco de Mayo, who doesn’t love a holiday that is all about tacos and margaritas? Our team does! To celebrate, we decided to try a newer to Nashville restaurant called Nada on Friday. It was the perfect kick off to the weekend. The food was incredible, the margaritas even better and the joy around the table probably the best! Not pictured below, Wil (because he didn’t want to be the only boy) and Gracie (because she is the mastermind behind the camera).

We cheered with margaritas and champagne to celebrate a fabulous first quarter of the year, the addition of Debbie to the team and just the fact that we feel blessed to have as much fun as we do. As I sat around the table, I realized just how cool my job is. I get to help so many people with the one of the biggest changes in their life and I also get to be a part of the amazing journey for our team members as they do the same. I am starting to think that they inspire me more than I do them.  It brings me so much joy to see our team thriving, our clients smiling and our Clough Team tribe growing!

We decided we would round up our top 5 Mexican restaurants in Nashville in honor of Cinco de Mayo. They are in no specific order but we will kick it off with our Friday lunch spot.

Nada – This Midtown restaurant hit a home run with their margaritas, guacamole and quesó! We highly suggest it. A few other favorites were the Baby Kale Ceasar salad with Steak, Chicken Tortilla Soup and the Carnitas Taco. The décor is beautiful and the parking is easy. And do not leave without someone at the table ordering the Lunch Box = 2 tacos + a donut. The donut dipped in caramel sauce will not disappoint. http://eatdrinknada.com/nashville/

Uncle Julio’s – This is probably our Brentwood favorite. It is the perfect lunch spot, an even better dinner date and who are we kidding, we would eat breakfast there too. The filet fajitas are fire and the tableside guacamole is a must. Hopefully you are celebrating something while you are there, like Monday or Tuesday, really any day of the week is worth celebrating and ordering the Chocolate Piñata! It is a fruit and churro filled chocolate piñata that you get to break open with the most perfect miniature baseball bat. Trust us on this one. https://unclejulios.com/locations/brentwood/

El Palenque – A Green Hills go to as well. If you are looking for great food, reasonable prices and the perfect white quesó, then you have found the right place. It is tucked away in Green Hills near the mall but completely worth the traffic and parking. But is there anywhere in Nashville we can go to avoid the traffic? Probably not.   http://elpalenquenashville.com/

Mojos Tacos – This fun restaurant is nestled in the Factory in Downtown Franklin. It can be an entire day outing since the Factory has so much to offer for shops and activities. But you need to plan your day around their tacos. They are perfection. The Brisket Taco, the Hot Chicken Taco, the Korean Cauliflower Taco, the Old School Taco… I mean… you cannot go wrong. Curious about the side of Mexican Street Corn or ending the meal with a refreshing Paleta? Yes and yes. https://www.mojostacos.com/

Sopapillas – This staple is going to round out our list. They are located in Franklin near Cool Springs. Some of our favorites from their menu: steak fajitas, ceviche appetizer, charred romaine wedge and the slow roasted quesadillas! They have 9 signature margaritas and even more fun signature cocktails. End the night with their Sopapillas served with local honey or Mexican chocolate! https://sopapillas.com/

Cheers from our team to yours! – Kyle
